MATERIALS & COLOURS

All our products are made from the highest quality materials. Below is a summary of the main materials which are used in the manufacture of our canopies and covers. They are listed in order of ascending cost; although in some cases the cost difference is quite low. Each material has a particular characteristc. There is no single material which suits all requirements and situations.*

Generally speaking highly waterproof materials (link Vinyl) offer little breathability and generate high levels of condensation. Conversely, materials which are more breathable are not 100% waterproof and are described as water repellent (however, if support poles are fitted correctly most moisture should simply run off). ultraviolet and mildew retardant. Tough, durable and long lasting. Reflects sun and heat. Very easy to keep clean. Only available on Bimini Tops.

Cloudburst is a tightly woven polyester/cotton material offers superior tear strength, durability, and water-repellency. Available in silver/grey only. 3 year limited warranty.

Sharkskin is a ligtweight material which is easy to handle and store. It is water repellent, mildew and UV resistant and easy to keep clean .Although lightweight it is incredibly strong and durable. 5 year limited warranty.

Sunbrella© is a high quality acrylic cover material manufactured by Glen Raven Mills. It is made from 100% solution dyed acrylic fiber so the brilliant colours are extremely fade proof. Strong, water-repellent and mildew-resistant Sunbrella© is renowned for providing prolonged protection from sun damage keeping both you and and your boat interior safe from the damaging effects of UV rays.

Our canopy frames and cover support poles are made from bright anodized 7/8" aluminium tubing. Stainless teel frames are an optional extra for our Bimini products.

Hardware is either nylon, chrome or stainless steel. All screws, bolts and snap studs are made from stainless steel.
